Description

1969 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. Grey with gray interior. F145 engine. Three on the tree manual transmission. Purchased FJ40 from original owner just over a year ago and have been driving it daily ever since. It is mostly original. Body is in good condition with some surface rust and a scrape at passenger running board (see pictures) FJ has well fabricated heavy duty bumpers. Interior is in good but well worn condition. No head liner. Dash pad is cracked, but what do you expect for a 45 year old collectors item. If you want close to perfect you can expect to pay over 20grand.
Starts and warms up nicely. Transmission works well with no popping out of gear. Stops well because brakes have been completely overhauled. Tracks well because front wheel bearings, top drag link, center arm and steering damper have been overhauled and replaced with new parts.
Many improvements have been made since purchase of vehicle.
Brakes: New master cylinder, new drums, new pads, and new wheel cylinders all the way around.
Engine SN# 90719 New distributer, New weber carb (FJ did not come with oem carb and air filter), Pertronix electronic ignition and flamethrower coil, fan belt, radiator hoses and just recently had a tune up. Tune up included cap, rotor, spark plugs, ignition wires, fuel filter, oil and oil filter
Steering: new drag link, center arm has been overhauled with new parts, Old Man Emu steering damper, front wheel bearings
Misc: Heater valve Kit, new wire block, rear door handle, side mirrors, front doors have had all weather stripping, felt and gaskets replaced.
Kept all the receipts
Engine leaks some oil which I suspect is coming from the main seal. Never got around to replace clutch and all seals associated with this type of service and repair.
I will be happy to answer any of your questions.
